The Soundcore Rave Neo 2 is down to $84.99 at Woot, while the same speaker is currently around $119 on Amazon. Prime members get free standard shipping, while everyone else pays $6, and the sale is expected to run for the next ten days unless it sells out sooner.
Its built-in handle makes it easy to move from the patio to the garage or pool, while the IPX7 rating means you do not have to panic over splashes or even a brief dunk in the water—it can float too, which makes it a much easier speaker to bring around the pool. Battery life should also be enough for most days out, with Soundcore estimating up to 18 hours of playback, though I would expect the real number to depend on your volume and whether you keep the RGB lights running. Still, it should comfortably get through an afternoon and evening without needing a recharge.
It also has enough volume for a small outdoor gathering, and the extra bass gives dance tracks and pop more weight than you would get from a smaller portable speaker—with the companion app giving you access to EQ controls if you want to adjust the tuning. That said, the bass reportedly starts to compress as you push the speaker toward maximum volume, so cranking it all the way up can make the sound less controlled. Its front-facing design also means the audio is strongest when you are sitting in front of it rather than spreading evenly around a group, and while its IPX7 rating covers water, it has no protection against dust, so it is not the most reassuring choice for sandy beach trips. The app also requires an account to access its full set of features, notes this PCMag review.
